A story to help you remember the important things…

…because this is where your magic comes from

There was once a woman who set off to see The world, leaving behind a village and the people she grew up with.

For she knew that her life setting one place was not for her. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Along the way she learned a great many things – some of them she discovered like unwrapping a beautifully wrapped gift box filled with magic. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Others were forged in the white-hot fire of loss. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

At times there were loves that she thought would last forever but didn’t, leaving her heart cracked open and her lungs feeling like they would never take a full breath of air again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

She took those experiences and wove them into a shawl – it kept her cool and shaded in the summer and warmed her bones in the winter cold. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

She carried on building up her body of work, a depth of knowledge & an empathic spirit. ⠀

We’re a magical patchwork quilt of experiences.

We don’t always get to choose the fabric we’re given – sometimes it’s beautiful silk and other times it’s scraps of worn and tattered cotton.

But we DO get to decide how we piece them together and the story our quilt tells. ⠀

Your life, your experience, and your body of work might not be neat or well-matched tones and patterns. But it’s the unique combination -the mix that only you have, this is where your magic comes from.⠀

Your business can be the same – an expression of your uniqueness in the world.

And YOU get to choose how it’s constructed, how it operates and what you do with it. Your choices, your voice, skills, opinions, experiences and your values all go into your business. It can be a wonderful, wonder-filled, way of making change in the world and sharing your magic.

No blueprint can show you how to do this. There’s no foolproof, step by step approach. It takes creativity, courage and a willingness to own your unique experience.

But when you do this (it’s one of the things I love to help clients to do) you refer yourself, and your business, un-copyable
